BUILDING BRIDGES

For too long, information about October 7th has been confined to Jewish spaces. Bridging Perspectives aims to bridge divides by fostering open conversations between students of all backgrounds, faiths, and perspectives while telling the stories students may not have heard before.

B

AWAY FROM CAMPUS

While campus climates are marked by tension and division, Bridging Perspectives takes students away from the noise and create a safe space for reflection and understanding.

C

HUMANITY, OVER POLITICS

Bridging Perspectives is dedicated solely to remembering the lives lost on October 7th, 2023, with a special focus on the Nova Festival massacre in partnership with the Nova Exhibition. By centering on human stories, we steer away from divisive rhetoric.

D

"The issue with this conflict is it’s hard to process when you’re scrolling on your screen. You see a headline on your phone, and it could be the worst thing you’ve ever read, but you don’t have the time and space to process it.

But here, you're inside an exhibit where the items of the people who were there, and they set it up to feel like the actual festival, and you see the story develop. You're giving yourself 3 hours to think about this and sit with it and have your phone in your pocket. You see how other people are reacting, and you share that feeling together."

Make an impact
on your campus.

This was one of the most eye-opening experiences I have had at Stanford thus far. As someone who is Jewish, I was amazed by how much this experience had impacted non-Jewish students and how they finally got a sense for the other side of the discourse on campus. I was very moved by the number of people who had said "oh now I understand what happened on October 7" or "oh now I get why my Jewish friends were upset.

I’d genuinely never seen any footage or testimonials about October 7th prior, and I didn’t know how devastating it was. That first tunnel [in the exhibition] shocked me. Seeing all the different media of people dying, gunshots… you could see the fear, and the phones trembling. It just woke me up. I put myself in their shoes, and was like “wow, I would feel so scared if I was there.” I finally understand what the heck happened.

This is truly one of the best experiences I have had at Stanford.

Very powerful experience; lots of tears; called my mom, brother and sisters; thank you.
